Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead and manage all on-site construction activities for our client, a construction firm focused on Institutional Construction projects across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members, and manage risks to minimize potential hazards.
  • Project Scheduling and Control: Monitor and maintain project schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines, and perform quality control inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet the highest standards.
  • Resource Management: Manage and coordinate all necessary resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Reporting and Stakeholder Management: Regularly report project progress to senior management and stakeholders, and provide updates on project status, timelines, and budgets.
  • Team Development and Training: Mentor and train project teams to maximize efficiency and productivity, and provide guidance and support to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with all local building codes and regulations, and manage regulatory requirements to minimize potential risks and liabilities.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in institutional construction, with a focus on new build projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership and communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Relevant certifications and licenses are required.
