Geochemistry Laboratory Technician

As a key member of the SGS team, you will be responsible for carrying out laboratory analyses and executing various techniques in our state-of-the-art Geochemistry laboratory. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our results.
- You will perform and execute laboratory techniques independently, adhering to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to carry out analyses.
- Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
- Record and interpret results to present to senior colleagues, ensuring timely evaluation.
- Maintain laboratory supplies by inventorying stock.
- Assist in maintaining and operating equipment, following operating instructions and troubleshooting breakdowns.
- Carry out routine instrument checks for compliance and accurate testing results.
- Assist with preparing method SOPs, validation protocols, and reporting.
- Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a clean and organized working environment.
- Education: BSc. or Diploma in a Science-related program or equivalent experience or training.
- Experience: Minimum 1 – 3 years of relevant laboratory work experience required.
- Previous experience using a variety of Geochemistry instrumentation.
- Proficient in using computer software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects.
Please note that extended hours, shift work, and travel to other SGS locations may be required from time to time.
