We are seeking a skilled Automation & Packaging Technician to join our team at Treasure Mills Inc. in a hands-on position responsible for operating and maintaining our robotic and automation systems.
This includes:
- Operating and training team members on robotic systems and automation equipment
- Performing regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure smooth operations
- Programming tasks to optimize system performance when necessary
The successful candidate will manage two full production lines, including five robots and automated components, and will be responsible for troubleshooting and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Report equipment deficiencies to the Maintenance Technician
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of all packaging machinery
- Participate in the company's Continuous Improvement program
- Work in accordance with the Treasure Mills Health and Safety program
- Contribute to a positive workplace environment
- Work closely with the Production Supervisor to prioritize jobs and minimize production downtime
- Consider the long-term sustainability of activities and reduce, reuse, and recycle resources in line with QC policy
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workplace health and safety matters relevant to the role
- Exhibit positive collegial behaviors
- Maintain packaging area upkeep and cleanliness to the highest industry standard
- Perform packaging machine changeovers when required
- Troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment
- Mechanical and some electrical experience
- Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize according to business needs
- Good communication skills, written and verbal, complete shift reports with accurate information
- 2 years of industrial food equipment experience (e.g. flow wrappers, or relevant experience in a repetitive/fast-paced environment)
- Knowledge of robots, conveyors, high-speed packaging equipment, and electrical/electronic controls
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
- Knowledge of SQR would be an asset
- Knowledge of HACCP preferred
Must be flexible with shift time, weekend work is required.
Shifts are four-five days per week, hours in length.
