Job Summary

The Banquet Captain is a key member of our events team, responsible for ensuring seamless service delivery for our guests. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Total charges for group functions and prepare and present checks to group contacts for payment.
  • Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction, responding promptly to any concerns or issues.
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards, with attention to detail and a focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen, ensuring that all guests' needs are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, adhering to company standards and protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in a hospitality or events environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication and leadership skills.
