About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at A&W Broadway & Cambie. As a key member of our restaurant operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of food service staff, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet customer needs.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
  • Operations Management
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
    • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, and maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
    • Prepare and submit reports on food service operations, including food order summaries for the chef.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained at all times.
  • Team Management
    • Hire and train food service staff, and provide ongoing support and development opportunities to ensure that they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods and working under pressure to meet customer demands.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Skills
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, and the ability to maintain accurate records.
