About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Materials Engineering Team, you will be responsible for driving forward our ambitious plans to enhance our service offerings in the province through your work with a close-knit team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and report technical results, write technical reports, and provide expertise and client deliverables on our projects;
  • Coordinate and manage our extensive technical materials engineering and pavement teams, both in the field and laboratory;
  • Assist with the coordination, management, and certification of our CCIL-certified laboratories;
  • Manage relationships with clients and ensure that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise;
Requirements
  • University degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education or experience in engineering or engineering technology;
  • 3-8 years experience working in Construction Materials QA/QC, Materials Engineering, or related field;
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks;
  • Licence to practice engineering, or ability to obtain licence in NS. Alternatively, current registration with TechNova;
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills;
  • Experience supervising and leading technical teams;
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products;
  • Punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in teams and on your own;
  • A willingness to do a variety of tasks and the ability to prioritize work according to importance and deadlines;
