About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a full-time pediatrician to join our team in the Western Zone. As a pediatrician, you will provide consulting care in both inpatient and outpatient practice settings, with possible satellite clinics in Shelburne and Digby. You will also have the opportunity to work as a preceptor with medical students and residents, and offer your expertise on pediatric care to various committees.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with other pediatricians and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients in the Western Zone. You will be responsible for providing clinics and occasional satellite clinics, and will be accountable to the patient population in the Western Zone.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consulting care in both inpatient and outpatient practice settings
  • Participate in call shifts and support Nova Scotia Health in advancing the delivery of pediatric care
  • Offer consultation support to the Western Zone, including day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
  • Be accountable to the patient population in the Western Zone by providing clinics and occasional satellite clinics
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
