Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, validation, and commissioning of locomotives to ensure they meet operational and safety standards before entering service. This role involves hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on locomotives, requiring detailed knowledge and precision.

The technician will work closely with engineering teams, quality control, and project managers to ensure all aspects of the locomotive function correctly and efficiently. Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive tests on all locomotive systems, conducting functional, qualification, and routine tests, implementing Field Modifications (FMI's) to improve product quality, identifying and troubleshooting issues with locomotive systems during the commissioning process, and documenting failures, part exchanges, and performed work in our Commissioning and Warranty database.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or Technical Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
  • Strong knowledge in the electrical field
  • Must hold a valid Driver's license in good standing
  • Field Service or Operations experience in the railroad industry is an asset
