Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neurotherapeutics team at McLean Hospital. As a Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our multidisciplinary programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate and long-term nursing care needs for patients receiving ECT/TMS/Ketamine, adhering to department, hospital, and regulatory standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the treatment team to ensure smooth patient flow through the treatment process.
  • Conduct pre-treatment assessments, monitor treatment progress, and manage post-anesthesia recovery for individuals.
  • Utilize multiple data sources to identify actual and potential health issues, functional status, and safety concerns.
  • Communicate patient condition and care needs with the treatment team and prioritize patient care requirements.
  • Establish a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients and initiate pulse oximetry, oxygen saturation, and EKG monitoring throughout treatment and recovery.
  • Promote interventions that provide the least-restrictive and safest recovery for patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
  • No experience required, one year medical/psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic computer skills to use electronic or online systems for communication, clinical, and administrative purposes.
  • Ability to complete electronic medical records training and demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
