Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Hand to join our team at Ben Machine Products. As a CNC Lathe Hand, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning centres with live tooling, using appropriate tools, fixtures, and indicators to set up the machine, loading, unloading, changing, and modifying programs as required, and adjusting feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC turning centres with live tooling, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
  • Use appropriate tools, fixtures, and indicators to set up the machine, ensuring accurate and efficient setup.
  • Load, unload, change, and modify programs as required, utilizing advanced software and programming skills.
  • Change and set cutting tools, ensuring optimal tool life and performance.
  • Modify and grind tools as required, utilizing advanced tooling and machining techniques.
  • Adjust feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency, ensuring optimal machine performance and productivity.
  • Operate the machine with all safety precautions in place, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Deburr and prepare parts for loading and after unloading, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance, utilizing advanced measurement and inspection techniques.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Understand and apply advanced machining techniques, including CNC programming and operation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, contributing to the success and growth of Ben Machine Products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in CNC turning and machining, with a strong background in precision machining and tooling.
  • Certificate, college degree, or other training in CNC turning and machining, with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Fanuc or Haas experience is a must, with a strong understanding of CNC programming and operation.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam is preferred, with experience in advanced CNC programming and operation.
  • Previous aerospace experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of defence and aerospace manufacturing.
  • Previous jobbing shop experience is preferred, with a strong background in precision machining and tooling.
