Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Addiction Medicine Specialist to join our team at Vancouver Coastal Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including clinics and hospitals.
About the Role
This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a minimum of 0.3 FTE (three sessions per week) or up to 0.8 FTE maximum. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working with patients struggling with addiction.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering medical assessments and treatment plans for patients with addiction-related issues
- Providing consultation services to other healthcare professionals
- Participating in education and research initiatives related to addiction medicine
- Collaborating with interprofessional teams to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Medical Degree and eligibility for licensure in British Columbia
- Current Canadian Medical Protection Association coverage
- Eligibility for a faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia School of Medicine
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of addiction medicine principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interprofessional environment
