We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our operational risk management efforts in Canadian Banking and Global Wealth Management business lines. As a Director, you will be responsible for providing advisory and challenge in the business lines' operational risk management practices.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive a customer-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships.
  • Leverage strong business knowledge, act as a trusted advisor, and provide value-added advice and independent effective challenge to the business lines in their operational risk management.
  • Develop strong partnerships, stay abreast of business priorities, and act as the main point of contact to first-line internal control teams and corporate support functions.
  • Provide change leadership by proactively identifying opportunities and driving enhancements to the operational risk oversight practice.
  • Drive thematic analysis and root cause problem-solving on issues identified through operational risk events reviews, self-assessments, scenario analysis, and other reviews/testing.
  • Provide executive reporting on business line operational risk profiles and represent global operational risks to various risk committees.
  • Liaise with other non-financial risk specialist areas and second-line operational risk teams globally to ensure a holistic approach.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree required; master's degree in finance, economics, or business preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in the business, products, and processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in business management, internal controls, risk management, compliance, audit, or related areas.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills working with various partners and leadership.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success at managing a team.
