Job Summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking an Estimating Student to assist with the preparation of tender documents and support the estimating team in various tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tender Document Preparation: Assist in the preparation of tender documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Trade Contractor and Supplier Support: Contact trade contractors and suppliers to gather information and support for tender pursuits.
  • Unit Pricing and Quantity Take-Offs: Obtain and build unit pricing, and perform and update quantity take-offs as required.
  • Request for Information Management: Update request for information lists to ensure timely responses.
  • Trade Scope and Contractual Knowledge: Develop understanding of trade scope definitions and local market conditions, as well as varied contractual terms and conditions.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering or architectural technology related field.
  • Estimating Skills: Ability to perform quantity take-offs and unit pricing, with a strong understanding of conceptual estimating.
  • Contractual Knowledge: Familiarity with various contract arrangements, including Lump Sum, Design Build, Project Management, Construction Management, and Public/Private Partnership.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, design, and formulas.
  • Field Experience: Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
