Alectra Utilities Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Station Maintenance Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

This role involves the installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, repairs, and data gathering of substation equipment including station facilities, switchgear, power transformers, capacitors and capacitor banks, circuit breakers, DC systems, switches, monitoring equipment, etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair municipal station (MS) and transformer station (TS) facilities, transformers, monitoring equipment, switches, switchgear, U.P.S. systems, DC systems, circuit breakers, capacitor banks, standby diesel generators, and other ancillary equipment.
  • Perform electrical and diagnostic tests on power and distribution transformers within the station, circuit breakers, and DC systems to verify integrity of components and predict potential failures.
  • Commission and de-commission substations, substation equipment, and associated wiring.
Requirements
  • Journeyman Substation Electrician certification.
  • OACETT certification C. Tech. Certified Engineering Technician or ability to earn OACETT certification within a year.
  • Possession of a valid "DZ" driver's license or the ability to obtain a DZ license.
  • Utility Work Protection Code.
  • First Aid.
  • Bucket Evacuation and Rescue.

This position involves frequent exposure to unpleasant conditions or hazards, resulting in frequent discomfort or risk of danger - work is performed equally indoors and outdoors.
