Job Summary

Advance Sheet Metal Ltd. is seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of metal fabrication and welding services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Our manufacturing facility is a fast-paced environment where you will be working with a variety of metal materials, including aluminum alloys and steel, iron, and heavy metals.
  • Tasks:
    • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
    • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes.
    • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
    • Determine weldability of materials and operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
    • Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal.
    • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
  • Type of Materials: You will be working with a variety of metal materials, including aluminum alloys and steel, iron, and heavy metals.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: You will be operating gas welding machines and other metal fabrication equipment.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: This is a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, requiring attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Weight Handling: You will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) on a regular basis.
  • Own Tools/Equipment: You will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses/goggles.
  • Personal Suitability: You must be organized and a team player with excellent communication skills.
