About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sign Language Interpreter to join our team. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers, peers, and other educational staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide sign language interpretation services in a variety of settings, including classrooms, meetings, and special events.
- Communicate and collaborate with teachers, staff, and students to ensure that students who are deaf or hard of hearing have equal access to education.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure that students who are deaf or hard of hearing feel supported and included.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sign language interpretation and deaf culture to ensure that you are providing the best possible service.
- Completion of a recognized interpreter training program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of field experience.
- 500 hours of practical clinical experience.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
