Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our Middle Market team at Zurich Canada.

This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, identifying opportunities for growth and profitability, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be an advocate for the Middle Market value proposition, focusing on improving customer experience and offering tailored solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, prioritizing target industries aligned with business strategy.
  • Maintain effective communication with brokers, ensuring timely and accurate quotes, policy issuance, and premium booking.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for growth and profitability through local relationships, enhancing portfolio performance.
  • Apply a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing, qualifying accounts in line with business strategy and organizational appetite.
  • Work within delegated authorities, adhering to underwriting rules, compliance protocols, and insurance regulations.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in Claims.
  • Knowledge of lines of business and legal regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
