We seek qualified individuals to maintain the safe and secure custody and control of valuable items transported between client locations, airport cargo warehouses, and other secure facilities.
Responsibilities include conducting motor vehicle inspections of Loomis International (CA) vehicles used in performing duties.
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, Road Crew Members serve as the primary point of contact for Loomis International (CA) Inc. with clients. Ideal candidates possess experience as messengers, guards, and drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing decisions in accordance with Loomis International (CA) Standard Operating Procedures and Use of Force options.
- Demonstrating strong proficiency in reading and writing English; bilingualism is considered an asset.
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism in an armed, uniform capacity.
- Developing strong interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, clients, and the public.
- Conducting daily vehicle pre-trip inspections to ensure compliance with Ministry of Transportation regulations.
- Safely operating commercial motor vehicles in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.
- Providing above-average attention to detail: counting items, recording amounts and serial numbers, signing, and dating receipts and manifests, sorting individual items according to manifests.
- Maintaining accurate paperwork, including shipment and collection manifests.
- Ensuring communication devices, keys, and security equipment are operational.
- Maintaining situational awareness of surroundings, environment, and persons within vicinity at all times when carrying out duties to minimize risk.
- Maintaining adherence to time constraints when affected by mechanical problems, traffic congestion, and adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age.
- A minimum 3-year driving record.
- Capability to lift objects weighing 50-75 pounds.
- Ability to obtain a Drivers Abstract.
- Must possess a valid Canadian Firearms License (Possession and Acquisition License with both Restricted and Non-Restricted).
- Must be able to complete requirements by the Ontario Chief Firearms Office to obtain and maintain an Authorization to Carry Permit for Restricted and Prohibited Firearms.
