Maintenance Planner Job Description

Saint-Gobain, a leading company in the housing and construction markets, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join their team in Edmonton. As a Maintenance Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing process by planning and coordinating preventive maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and schedule preventive maintenance tasks using a work order system to meet deadlines and achieve compliance.
  2. Lead coordination meetings with engineers, maintenance personnel, and production supervisors to prepare and coordinate planned and major shutdowns.
  3. Work closely with department leads to complete regular planning schedules and cycles.
  4. Plan necessary resources, including labor, parts, and special machinery.
  5. Make purchasing requisitions for parts, resources, and maintenance services.
  6. Codify essential spare parts in the ERP system (SAP).
  7. Interface with suppliers for price requests.
  8. Participate in the creation of maintenance procedures and best practices.
  9. Ensure departmental performance indicators are captured, reported, and followed up on.
  10. Represent the Edmonton site within the organization to share good planning practices.
  11. Support the maintenance department during the Supervisor's vacation or absence.
  12. Create and track department work orders.
  13. Prepare documents and parts necessary for interventions.
Requirements:
  1. Post-secondary education, preferably in engineering technology or training in technical trades.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance planner in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Very good working knowledge of SAP Maintenance software.
  4. AutoCAD knowledge (desired).
  5. Experience in a unionized environment (asset).
  6. Experience in continuous improvement processes.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  8. Good technical knowledge.
  9. Ability to provide a global view of planning to internal clients and foresee issues and/or future problems.
  10. Proactive, teamwork, acts entrepreneurially, attentive to details, customer-oriented.
