We are seeking a skilled Steel Fabricator to join our team at our shipyard and boat repair service yard in Richmond, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Operate welding equipment and manual flame-cutting equipment
- Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
- Assist in development of repair estimates
- Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in welding compliance, practices, and techniques
- Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
Requirements
- Interprovincial Red Seal or Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) tickets (minimum C ticket)
- Proven experience, 5 years preferred
- Must pass physical to ensure bonafide job requirements can be fulfilled
- All position welding
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Proven abilities with MIG, TIG, and ARC processes
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Needs to be responsible, accountable, and dependable
- Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Shows strong initiative and is a self-starter
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Strong safety mindset
