Job Description

Senior Project Manager - ICI

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Estimating Department to develop project budgets and tenders.
  • Review and approve project invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accurate cost control documentation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver projects successfully.
  • Follow company procedures for project setup and startup, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Review and approve trade contractor claims, ensuring accuracy and adjusting cost-to-complete projections monthly.
  • Ensure project cash flow adequately covers project costs, analyzing risk and reporting monthly to senior management.
  • Develop and update master project schedules, reporting on progress against plan and communicating schedule updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage prime contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain project risk registers, communicating and reviewing project risks with stakeholders regularly.
  • Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders on all aspects of the project, including safety, quality, budget, schedule, and risk.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on ICI and residential projects.
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, particularly in field work.
  • Demonstrated success in prioritizing tasks based on demand and deadlines, and working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
  • Fundamental understanding of project financial controls.
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • General understanding and commitment to QA/QC policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety practices/requirements.
  • Design/build experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques and strategies is an asset.
  • Experience with project or construction management software.
  • Excellent English language reading, writing, and speaking skills.
  • Resourceful and well-organized, with the ability to set and manage competing priorities.
  • Driver's license and the ability to travel to job sites.
