The JBH Truck Centre Ltd. is seeking an experienced and skilled Truck Mechanic Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and trucks.

About the Job

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has at least 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field. As a Truck Mechanic Specialist, you will be working on a permanent basis, with a regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

In addition to your experience, we require that you have a strong understanding of diesel engines and have experience working with computerized testing equipment. You must also have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions;
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required;
  • Order parts and maintain inventory;
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts;
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work;
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks;
  • Service attachments and working tools;
  • Verify and repair emission control systems;
Diesel Engine Repair Specialization

As a Truck Mechanic Specialist, you will also have the opportunity to specialize in diesel engine repair. This includes:

  • Fuel injection system;
  • Exhaust system;
  • Cooling system;
  • Air conditioning system;
  • Lubrication system;
  • Engine control system;
  • Major internal engine repairs or overhaul;
Mechanical Maintenance and Repair Specialization

You will also have the opportunity to specialize in mechanical maintenance and repair, which includes:

  • Mechanical transmissions;
  • Hydraulic transmissions;
  • Power take-offs;
  • Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering;
  • Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering;
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This position requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Stand for extended periods;
  • Bend, crouch, and kneel regularly;
  • Handle heavy loads;
  • Work in a physically demanding environment;

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location of the job.
