Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence
    • Ensure the maintenance of high merchandising and operational standards in the meat department.
    • Monitor and control departmental financial objectives, including inventory management and cost control.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to maintain a positive reputation for the company.
    • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
    • Monitor and control inventory costs to achieve departmental financial objectives.
  • Training and Development
    • Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching and development to team members.
    • Develop and implement training programs to improve team performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Safety and Sanitation
    • Ensure the safety and sanitation of the meat department at all times.
    • Monitor and control the maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Grade 12 Diploma with a Meat Cutter Apprenticeship Certificate.
    • Three to five years' experience in the retail meat industry, with prior management experience a definite asset.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Flexibility to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, night shifts, and weekends.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
