Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a clinical role. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, initiating oxygen therapy, and educating clients on their condition and prescribed therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate oxygen therapy and assess respiratory health on an ongoing basis.
  • Educate clients on their condition and prescribed therapy, with follow-up assessments completed on a regular basis.
  • Obtain informed consent to initiate therapy.
  • Protect clients and employees by adhering to safety and infection control policies and protocols.
  • Contribute to the growth of Northern Respiratory Centre Inc. by liaising with medical professionals, providing demonstrations/education of products and services to prospective clients and referral sources.
  • Attend workshops/education sessions to ensure product knowledge is current.
  • Prepare reports on calls and activities.
  • Provide on-call services for our oxygen clients in rotation with our other staff members.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • A Registered Respiratory Therapist with current registration in good standing with their college is required.
  • Proof of License to practice with the provincial governing body (CRTO, CNO).
  • Proof of a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to provide a clean drivers abstract is required.
  • Previous Customer Service experience is an asset with a minimum of 1+ years related healthcare experience.
  • Fluency in English required (reading, writing, and oral), bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • Professional and friendly interpersonal skills with strong customer service values.
  • Excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, assess situations, prioritize tasks, and set deadlines.
  • A professional and mature demeanor, with strong communication skills.
  • Good time management skills, ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Must be committed to both personal and patient/client safety.
  • Current Basic rescuer CPR and First Aid Training is considered an asset.
  • Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills.
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), QuickBooks, or similar accounting software & experience with CRM/EMR system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
