About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary Part-time Plasma Associate to join our dynamic Plasma Operations team.
The Plasma Operations team is responsible for collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable safe products that save lives every day.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing assigned duties associated with the plasma donation and production process as defined by standard operating procedures.
You will participate in projects/continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the success of the program.
You will also act as an ambassador of the program to promote and contribute to a collaborative and customer-centric work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage your excellent customer service skills to promote a positive experience for donors throughout the collection process.
- Utilize your superior interpersonal and communication skills to greet and assist all plasma donors as they progress through the donation process.
- Apply your experience and training in phlebotomy to perform venipuncture according to established standards.
- Ensure completeness of information in our IT system for products, when completing the labelling process for products, and when preparing products for freezing, centrifuging, and shipment to our testing facilities.
- Contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team.
Requirements
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/health-related fields of study.
- Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
