About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team at VIA HFR. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and produce economic studies and cost-benefit analysis to support the Toronto-Quebec City rapid train project.
  • Provide strategic advice and prepare reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Model and analyze the impact of government policies and regulations on macroeconomic and microeconomic levels.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand the technical details of the project and their economic impact.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, including government, investors, and the public.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or a related field. A master's degree in economics is considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in infrastructure economics or transportation economics.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and ability to use data analysis software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French, with the ability to give presentations in both official languages.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
