Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Safety Specialist to join our team at FedEx Supply Chain, Inc. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational health and safety, with experience in implementing and maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Implement and maintain a safe working environment in assigned facilities, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and corporate safety program expectations.
  • Conduct training and coaching on work habits in support of safety efforts, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support management in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and facilitate incident investigation processes.
  • Monitor safety regulations and maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, and compliance metrics.
  • Provide immediate aid for individuals needing medical attention, and train others to complete safety responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or high school diploma or GED with 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand for up to 10 hours per day, and lift/carry items less than 40 pounds.
