About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Spruce Wood Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of woodwork and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement project plans, including layout designs and material estimates.
    • Coordinate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Woodworking and Construction
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
    • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients.
    • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
    • Survey building locations and levels.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Instruct and supervise apprentices.
    • Provide guidance and support to other team members.
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Ensure all projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the carpentry trade.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a fast-paced construction environment.
    • Physically demanding, requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Language and Communication
    • Fluent in English.
