About the Role

Newmont Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Porcupine Mine Site in Timmins, Ontario. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our surface mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain surface mobile mining equipment, including loaders, trucks, drills, personnel carriers, and service type vehicles and excavators.
  • Perform troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and predictive and preventive maintenance on surface mobile equipment.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturer's specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
  • Service attachments and working tools, such as blades, ploughs, winches, and side booms.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Corporate, and Porcupine Environmental Regulations, Safety and Sustainability Standards.
  • Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals within the department and cross-department.
  • Make decisions and take initiative to resolve issues.
  • Provide own tools and assist in other work areas as required.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of intermediate in-school training sessions and 70% of required hours for their trade.
  • Experience maintaining surface mobile equipment, including loaders, trucks, drills, personnel carriers, and service type vehicles and excavators.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer, and written skills.
  • Ability to organize work and self-motivate.
  • Willingness to work with others and be technically competent.
Working Conditions
  • Work a 5x5x4 schedule.
  • Location: Porcupine Mine Site, Timmins, Ontario.
