We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at Westwood Plateau. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to meet the high standards of our guests.

• Work directly under the Restaurant Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
• Process incoming bills and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain optimal prep levels to meet the demands of busy and slow periods.
• Ensure the restaurant line is properly stocked with adequate backups.
• Have in-depth knowledge of the menu and follow recipes to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Assist the dishwasher as needed to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
• Monitor the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen, reporting any equipment malfunctions to the Restaurant Chef.
• Receive and store food deliveries, checking for quality and rotation.
• Ensure products are covered, labeled, and stored correctly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
• Estimate food quantities to prepare and cook within specified guidelines.
• Select and apply spices, herbs, and condiments to enhance flavor and presentation.
• Prepare basic stocks and sauces to support menu offerings.
• Produce food with correct taste, temperature, and visual appeal under the direction of supervisors.
• Identify, clean, and use kitchen equipment correctly to maintain efficiency and safety.
• Anticipate potential kitchen needs, such as defrosting and ordering, to prevent stockouts.

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
• Ability to cook steaks to desired doneness.
• Understanding of various cooking methods.
• Good knowledge of soups and sauces.
