Job Description

Position Overview:

Squarepoint Capital is a leading global investment management firm that leverages a diversified portfolio of systematic and quantitative strategies across financial markets to achieve high-quality, uncorrelated returns for our clients. As a Trading Applications Specialist, you will be part of a global team of exceptional technologists responsible for ensuring the reliability and stability of our trading services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of financial markets and combine this knowledge with strong technical skills to support systematic trading applications and other critical software.
  • Take ownership of incident management and root cause elimination through process improvements.
  • Drive continuous innovation via automation and optimization of daily workflows.
  • Manage outages that impact the trading environment, reducing production downtime.
  • Work on a wide range of projects, including onboarding of new applications, services, and products into the production environment or developing tools and scripts to automate operational tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar discipline.
  • Up to 4 years of experience in a similar environment, buy or sell side.
  • Experience with Linux, Python, Bash.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following asset classes: equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within a global team.
  • Eagerness to continuously learn new technologies and develop with us.
  • Curious and driven by the challenge of solving new problems.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with either of: kdb+/q, MSSQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working with the FIX protocol.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP concepts.

Compensation and Benefits:

The minimum base salary for this role is $60,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions. Successful candidates' compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
