Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at LifeLabs. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in the specimen collection process, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and accurate test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and prepare patients for specimen collection, ensuring they understand the process and any necessary test protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings as required.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for transportation and testing, maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Complete data entry of patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant details.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, and/or intravenous therapy.
  • ECG training or experience is an asset.
  • Proficient data entry skills and excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
