Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Safety Coordinator to join our team at OSCO Group Services Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct new employee safety orientations and provide additional training as needed to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist supervision with Hazard Assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to identify potential risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of our safety program and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure resolution of identified issues.
  • Investigate and report all incidents/accidents in a timely manner, including personal injury, property damage, and near misses.
  • Organize and facilitate regular toolbox talks to promote safety awareness and best practices.
  • Participate in monthly Joint Health and Safety meetings and communicate safety information effectively to division managers.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness policies and procedures to ensure a safe and responsive environment.
  • Assist in managing employee return to work programs to ensure employee recovery and return to work.
  • Travel to worksites will be required for this position.
Requirements
  • Relevant safety experience in an industrial/unionized environment, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of legislated requirements in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Professional Safety designation (CSS, CSO, NCSO, CRSP) is considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
