We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team at Acumen Collision. The ideal candidate will have experience with manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, as well as a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
About the RoleThis is a permanent position working 32-36 hours per week. You will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating various types of welding equipment, and fabricating or repairing metal parts and products.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, fit, braze and torch-straighten metal.
- Determine weldability of materials and operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
- Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Strong physical capabilities, including handling heavy loads and being physically demanding.
You will be working in a dusty, noisy environment with odours present. You will also need to be able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including support for newcomers and refugees, on-the-job training tailored to youth, and flexible onboarding options for Veterans.
