About the Role:



The Retail Customer Service Associate will assist the Front Store Manager with day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth customer experience and promoting the store throughout the neighbourhood. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment and can multitask effectively.



Key Responsibilities:


  2. Acknowledge and greet all customers with a smile and hello, maintaining a warm, friendly attitude toward all customers.
  3. Handle telephone inquiries quickly and courteously, avoiding keeping in-store customers waiting.
  4. This position includes job variety, with tasks such as operating the cash register, stocking shelves, and keeping aisles tidy.
  5. Pay attention to store security and follow store policy regarding shoplifters.
  6. Display all goods properly and arrange them so that customers can discover them quickly.
  7. Develop product knowledge and learn about new products, knowing product locations and store layout.
  8. Request a cash pick-up when large sums of money are accumulated and anticipate requirements for change before running out.
  9. Handle lottery and CBO tickets as per store procedures.
  10. Use tact and courtesy when dealing with difficult customers, knowing whom to refer a customer to if they have a complaint.
  11. Inform the store manager of all customer complaints, comments, and concerns regarding customer service, prices, merchandise, etc.
  12. Maintain the store's general appearance, ensuring everything is clean, restocked, and well arranged.
  13. Learn and utilize proper merchandising techniques, such as shelf label placement, stock rotation, and facing.
  14. Maintain specific sections as allocated and notify the store buyer regarding merchandise out of stock.
  15. Maintain product data and inventory, making sure the reordering process is simple.
  16. Participate in the development and preparation of displays, windows, and seasonal promotions.
  17. Always keep busy and productive, identifying tasks that can be performed between customers.
  18. Carry out additional duties as delegated by the Front Store Manager and Store Operator.


Requirements:


  • Ability to handle cash with accuracy.
  • Capacity to function for an extended period while standing.
  • Some customer service and cashiering experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with customers.
  • Excellent product or service knowledge.
  • Multitasking and managing the demands of numerous clients at once.
  • Mature and cooperative attitude.
  • Professional image, including a name tag and proper grooming.
  • Due to this position's sensitive nature, the successful candidate must provide a Criminal Record Check.
