Job Description

As an Industrial Products Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing new items and trends within our industrial equipment product lines. You will analyze business data to determine product trends and design exclusive product lines that meet our customers' needs.

You will build strong relationships with vendors, negotiate availability, product specs, distribution, delivery deadlines, and pricing to maximize our profits and surpass margin goals. Your duties will include day-to-day product management and sourcing new vendors/products based on targeted trends/categories.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing new items and trends within industrial equipment product lines.
  • Analyzing business data to determine product trends and designing exclusive product lines.
  • Negotiating with vendors on availability, product specs, distribution, delivery deadlines, and pricing.
  • Building strong relationships with vendors.
  • Managing web presentations, including banner ads, category structure, model-level marketing copy, imagery, and specifications.
  • Conducting competitive analysis to determine best pricing possible.
  • Spearheading marketing campaigns by negotiating exclusive promotions with vendors and implementing special offers to customers via various marketing vehicles.
  • Assisting with training new employees and acting as a mentor for other Product Managers.

Competencies and Skills

  • 5-10 years of industrial products buying experience.
  • Sound negotiating and communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, resourcefulness, and ability to work independently with keen attention to details and deadlines.
  • Website and catalog experience.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
