Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Psychologist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The successful candidate will provide assessment and treatment for patients found Not Criminally Responsible on account of mental disorder (NCR) and Unfit to Stand Trial who are under the jurisdiction of Manitoba's Criminal Code Review Board (CCRB).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Provide consultation to the multidisciplinary team, inpatient staff, and individual and group-based treatment for mental health concerns and risk management.
  • Develop and implement clinical programming to support patient recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA-accredited clinical psychology training program.
  • Completion of a CPA or APA accredited internship/residency.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Psychologist (C.Psych.) with the Psychological Association of Manitoba with forensic competency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and inter-professional teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a forensic mental health setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based psychological treatments for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
