- Examine and Diagnose Patients: Conduct thorough examinations to identify diseases and injuries, and develop effective treatment plans.
- Develop and Implement Health Plans: Work with patients to develop healthy habits, break old habits, and promote overall wellness.
- Order Diagnostic Procedures: Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients on health care, and empower them to take an active role in their treatment.
- Coordinate Patient Care: Coordinate or manage primary patient care, ensuring seamless and effective treatment.
- Licensure: Hold licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Work Environment: Work in a clinic setting, with opportunities to work in various locations.
- Work Schedule: Work 30 to 40 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
- Language: Work in English, with opportunities to work with patients from diverse backgrounds.
