Job Summary

The College of Lake County is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Computer Information Technology courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and providing a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Computer Information Technology courses at the College of Lake County
  • Develop and distribute course syllabi, teaching all scheduled classes
  • Assess student learning and assign grades
  • Participate in college governance and other aspects of academic life
  • Maintain current knowledge of subject matter
  • Develop and administer discipline-appropriate measures of student academic achievement
  • Provide feedback to students on their progress
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business, or related discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business, or related discipline AND a Master's degree AND three (3) years experience in the IT industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with two or more of the following: Python, C++, C#, advanced scripting, operating systems, networking, business intelligence, cybersecurity
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English

The College of Lake County is a comprehensive community college located in northeastern Illinois. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the College's Grayslake, Vernon Hills, and Waukegan campuses, as well as online.
