Job Summary:
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education Department is seeking a qualified Boarding Home Parent to provide a safe and supportive environment for high school students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as an advocate for high school students;
- Provide meals according to house schedules;
- Be able to work shift work;
- Be willing to travel to scheduled appointments;
- Advise students on hygiene;
- Ensure students attend school regularly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Group Home setting preferable;
- Honest, caring and patient;
- Act as a role model in healthy lifestyles;
- Good oral communication skills;
- Be able to plan menus and cook healthy meals;
- Good written skills and ability to prepare monthly reports;
- Hold a valid First Aid/CPR certificate or be willing to obtain one in a timely fashion;
- A valid class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required;
- Be willing to work assigned flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) as required;
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
