Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and caring ECE Assistant to join our team at the Early Years Center. As an integral part of our daycare staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist coworkers with housekeeping and cooking duties, ensuring a clean and safe space for children to grow and learn.
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention to their needs.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure it is safe and functional for use by children.
  • Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development in children.
  • Encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, helping children express themselves and develop their skills.
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, promoting language and literacy skills.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, supporting their overall well-being.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, ensuring a smooth daily routine.
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, providing valuable insights into their progress and development.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, working collaboratively with the team to address any concerns.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, prioritizing their safety and happiness.
Credentials and Experience:
  • A Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification is preferred but not required.
  • An Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate is also an asset.
  • A First Aid Certificate is necessary to ensure the well-being of children in your care.
