About the RoleWe are seeking a Distinguished Engineer for Platform Memory Subsystem Architecture to lead our organization's knowledge and expertise on the latest memory technologies and trends. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for proposing a technical roadmap to ensure Lenovo's leading position in the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with industry leaders and ISG solution and performance teams to advise on system architecture design from memory and memory subsystem perspectives.
- Drive common portfolio level memory subsystem architecture and provide deep expertise on memory RAS feature planning and implementation from controller, memory supplier, and platform design perspectives.
- Lead the memory subsystem architecture and design, and conduct research and lead proof of concept for future memory subsystem technologies.
- Work hands-on with ISG's Quality Team to ensure the highest degree of memory subsystem reliability for current and future products.
- 15+ years of work experience with hands-on volatile memory related development and 5 years in architecture leadership role.
- Deep understanding of error correction algorithms and memory controller design at the RTL level.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical analysis of DIMM failure rates/modes.
- Deep understanding of alternate memory interconnects and architectures such as CXL, memory centric compute, memory tiering, advanced caching enablement.
- Experience innovating and working with software and firmware enablement of advanced memory RAS, Pre-failure Monitoring, ACPI, NUMA awareness, and optimization approaches.
- Deep understanding of memory centric customer workloads such as in-memory databases (SAP, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership across world-wide cultures and geographies, with an emphasis on coaching and development of future technical leaders, strong communication skills, and an ability to represent Lenovo and ISG well to employees, partners, customers, and the industry.
