As a Heavy Equipment Technician at GFL Environmental, you will be responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance services on a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles. This includes inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension brake, and air systems.

You will utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs. Additionally, you will estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.

A key aspect of this role is conducting safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. You will also complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software and maintain a clean and safe work area.

Working alongside apprentices, you will provide assistance and guidance, as well as perform basic maintenance on small mobile equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, and small wheel loaders.

In addition, you will be required to perform some recycling facility maintenance (MRF) tasks, including troubleshooting hydraulic systems, greasing and adjusting conveyors, replacing rollers, and replacing bearings.

This role requires a 310 T Truck and Coach License, as well as a valid 'G' driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work. You will also be expected to own tools and have experience with welding, which will be considered an asset.
