Job Description

Carpentry Expertise

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter with a strong background in woodwork, including measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Estimates: Provide detailed estimates of labor and/or material costs for projects.
  • Read Blueprints: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
  • Lay Out Work: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
  • Craft Wood Items: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Pursue Tenders: Prepare tenders and quotations for clients.
  • Instruct Apprentices: Train and mentor apprentices in carpentry techniques.
  • Schedule Projects: Plan and coordinate project schedules to meet deadlines.
Experience and Specialization

CAD Experience: Proficiency in operating CADD and other computer software systems.

Work Environment

Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a noisy and dusty environment.

Required Qualifications

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required. However, relevant training or certifications in carpentry would be beneficial.

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry.
