About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Excavation Equipment Operator to join our team at STAR EXCAVATING LTD. As an Excavation Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, conducting pre-operational checks, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe excavators and loaders, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks as needed.
  • Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment.
  • Operate GPS and other navigation equipment to ensure accurate location and navigation.
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to stay in touch with team members.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate operation and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in operating heavy equipment.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various locations.
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Fast-paced environment with overtime required.
  • Ability to work with steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses/goggles.
What We Offer
  • Permanent work term with 35 hours per week.
  • English language required for communication.
