Power Electronics Design and Release Specialist

Job Summary:
The Power Electronics Design and Release Engineer will be responsible for the activities related to Power Electronics components (Converters, Inverters, AC and DC charging devices) designs for Electrified Vehicle applications.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with power electronics suppliers to ensure corporate requirements and specifications, as well as industry best practice design features and processes, are implemented for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, etc.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation outlining best practices supporting the organizations internal continuous improvement initiatives and the development of product technology roadmaps.
- Develop and implement power electronics designs that meet or exceed industry standards and customer requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of power electronics components into Electrified Vehicle systems.
- Conduct thorough analysis and testing of power electronics designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality power electronics components.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Years of engineering experience in high voltage/power electronics components or similar products.
- Product launch experience is a plus.
- Demonstrable understanding of power electronics and devices.
- Understanding of electrical engineering protocols and standards.
- Working technical knowledge in applications engineering and product design/development (specifically within an automotive context).
- Working level knowledge of DVP&R and DFMEA.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated and self-starter.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Working level knowledge of Power Electronics analysis and simulations tools.
- Ability to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams, and all levels of personnel/management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities while being mindful of deadlines.
- Must be task-oriented, detail-oriented, and accurate with work.
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- DRE and product launch experience.
- Power electronics/electrical models and simulation experience.
- Power electronics specifications expertise.
- Electric motor and powertrain controls experience.
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabrication experience.
- Semi-conductor manufacturing knowledge.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Must Have's:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Years of engineering experience in high voltage/power electronics.
- Demonstrable understanding of power electronics and devices.
- Working technical knowledge in applications engineering and product release.
- Ability to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams, and all levels of personnel/management.
- Hybrid - or days a week at the ARDC location in Windsor.
- Occasional travel to the US for meetings (only) not working - Occasional meaning or times per month.
- No driving of Client vehicles.
