Job Title: Firmware QA Tester

About the Role:
High Tech Genesis Inc. is seeking a skilled Firmware QA Tester to join our Firmware/OS team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining our automated testing infrastructure and platform tests, reporting to the Lead Firmware Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Firmware Testing:
Test firmware to ensure it meets the required standards and specifications.

2. Test Planning and Execution:
Manage and participate in the development of test plans, writing test procedures, executing tests, writing test reports, and creating/tracking software problem reports.

3. Automated Test Infrastructure:
Architect and implement an automated test infrastructure for embedded systems, leveraging the architected infrastructure to write functional tests.

4. Release Management:
Perform release management for the firmware/OS team, ensuring the correct ongoing functionality of the developed infrastructure.

5. Quality Assurance:
Ensure the quality of the firmware and automated testing infrastructure, identifying and implementing improvements in test coverage, cycle time reduction, scalability, and overall quality.

Requirements:

1. Experience:
~ Demonstrated experience testing firmware.
~ 3+ years developing test automation.
~ 3 to 5 years of experience with automated test frameworks (pytest, robot framework, xUnit, Lava, etc.).
~ Experience with CI/CD pipelines as applied to embedded systems.
~ Demonstrated experience delivering consumer products involving custom-made hardware components.
~ Recent experience with Azure DevOps and/or Jira.

2. Education:
~ Bachelors' degree in Engineering, ideally a dual diploma in both Electrical and Software engineering or the equivalent.
