About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform daily QA and QC responsibilities to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
  • Directly oversee and review subcontractor documentation and QC activities onsite.
  • Collaborate with in-house personnel and external stakeholders to produce and document a quality product.
  • Hold project teams accountable for quality control program requirements and the overall Quality Manual.
  • Review, approve, and assist in developing Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) and associated checklists and inspection forms.
  • Perform physical inspections on site to adhere to ITP program requirements.
  • Ensure all personnel understand specification requirements applicable to their scope of work.
  • Manage and provide guidance to Subcontractors' Quality Inspectors and Quality Field Engineers.
  • Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance and report to the Construction Quality Manager.
  • Verify project requirements are clearly communicated to vendors and contractors.
  • Oversee material receiving processes to ensure received materials conform to approved submittals, are stored and handled properly.
  • Review and monitor disposition and status of issued nonconforming reports.
  • Promote Project Quality Absolutes, Quality Policy, and Quality Objectives.
  • Recommend and implement improvements as needed.
  • Present Quality portion in daily MIP orientation and Subcontractor kick-off meeting.
  • Lead construction turnover process for assigned scopes and ensure proper documentation is in place. Review quality records for accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Quality discipline or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 4 years of direct construction inspection experience on major LRT or similar projects.
  • Certified in Alberta or other jurisdiction as a Professional Engineer, Engineer in Training (EIT), or certified Engineering Technologist.
  • Multidisciplinary backgrounds in electrical, civil, and structural preferred.
  • Working knowledge of material testing, such as earthwork, asphalt, and concrete testing, an asset.
  • Working knowledge of rail welding methods, such as Flush-Butt and/or Thermite, an asset.
  • Good knowledge and experience in problem-solving methodology and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Good knowledge and experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, CSA, and ASTM codes.
  • Experience with Authority Having Jurisdiction to reach mutually agreeable solutions to technical issues or field issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of general construction methods and construction codes.
  • Understanding of fire-related construction requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Quality Management systems.
