About the Role

We are seeking a Personal Support Worker to join our team at Good Shepherd Centres. As a Personal Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals in our Transitional Beds Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to individuals in our Transitional Beds Program
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support individuals with complex health and social needs
  • Work within a Harm Reduction framework
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Participate in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs and procedures

Requirements

  • PSW certificate, in good standing from an approved and recognized institution
  • Experience working with individuals with complex health and social needs
  • Ability to work within a Harm Reduction framework
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good judgement, problem solving and assessment skills
  • Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified
  • Committed to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd
