About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk and Assurance Manager to join our Chief Operating Officer (COO) team at Ecocareers. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in controlling the risk and assurance plan, ensuring the smooth operation of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and Implement the COO Integrated Assurance Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive assurance strategy that aligns with our business objectives.
  2. Collaborate with Assurance Providers: Work with internal and external assurance providers to map assurance across key risk areas, ensuring a robust and effective risk management framework.
  3. Develop the Risk and Assurance Plan: Create and maintain a detailed risk and assurance plan, identifying and mitigating potential risks to our business.
  4. Support COO Directors and Teams: Provide guidance and support to COO directors and teams in executing the risk and assurance plan, highlighting challenges and risks, and making necessary adjustments.
  5. Manage Performance Against the Risk and Assurance Plan: Monitor and report on performance against the risk and assurance plan, intervening when assurance and risk activities are off track.
  6. Develop and Manage Risk-Based Assessment Criteria: Establish and maintain risk-based assessment criteria to accurately measure compliance across the COO function.
  7. Escalate Assurance Activities: Escalate assurance activities that do not meet the risk-based assessment criteria and require intervention.
  8. Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Leverage insights from risk and assurance activities to identify opportunities for improvements and change.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications in Management of Risk: Hold a relevant professional qualification in risk management or a related field.
  2. Proven Experience in Risk, Audit, and Assurance: Demonstrate proven experience in risk, audit, and assurance in a high-performing regulated or safety-critical business.
  3. Leadership and Team Management: Show experience in leading and nurturing teams to grow and develop.
  4. Risk-Based Assessment Criteria: Have experience in developing risk-based assessment criteria across a large organization.
  5. Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills: Possess strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
  6. IT Systems Proficiency: Be proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office365 products.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrate confidence in engaging with key stakeholders across all levels of the business and ability to translate data and define key risk points.
